Science this term

We have been working with Mr Din on how forces affect planes. We have had one lesson on helicopters and learnt how drift & drag force affects it along with lift and gravity forces. This week we made parachutes and dropped them off the balcony with eggs in the baskets. We had no breakages! Miss Thomas also dropped a wine glass that was in one of the baskets and that did not break either! This showed us the forces that impact on the way the parachutes fall.

Here are some photos of us and our parachutes and funny looking planes.

Planting at Camp Sladdin

Today we went planting at Camp Sladdin. We planted heaps of trees and had lots of fun getting our hands dirty and muddy!

Pic from Miss Harvey

Miss Harvey was our student teacher in weeks 1 to 5 this term. We had lots of fun playing new games and learning how to write recipes. She sent us the selfie we took on her last day.

Thank you for teaching us Miss Harvey. We all miss you.

Structures - Bridges

We have been learning about forces and structures in class. This week we have watched a mystery science lesson on what makes the strongest bridge. Then we tried some of our own designs. Here is a video of some of our experiments.

Good learner

We have been learning about what makes a good learner in class. We brainstormed a list of characteristics a good learner had and then created some posters to remind us what they were. Here are just some of our posters.
